Organic plant trays using plantain leaves to germinate seeds by 61 year old K V Sasidharan from Kannur, Kerala

Hello friends

I am Gijo Vijayan here, blogger, author and entrepreneur from India.

Today I want to introduce you to year old K V Sasidharan from Kannur, Kerala who came up with a unique method to germinate seeds.

Organic plant trays using plantain leaves to germinate seeds!! 61 year old K V Sasidharan, a retired teacher from Kannur, Kerala is making eco-friendly plant trays to replace plastic trays. He germinated seeds of different vegetables including okra, cucumber, brinjal, chilli, ash gourd, tomato, and snake gourd in plantain leaf trays at home. As the availability of palm leaves is lesser, he made more trays from plantain leaves. Plantain leaf is cut in 2-inch length and one-inch width. This rolled into a cylindrical shape using a stapler. Then it is filled with coconut husk or soil before sowing seeds. Let us stop using containers made of plastics to grow plants and start using organic plant trays.

Join with me to congratulate Sasidharan and wish him all success.

Warm Regards
